Privacy policy

This Week ("we" or "us") is an iPhone app that shows local events on a map. This page explains what information we collect, why we need it, and how you can control it. It applies to the This Week app and to the websites we run for it, including this one.

What we collect

  • Your account. If you sign in, we keep an account ID and the basic profile details that Apple, Google, or email sign-in shares with us, such as your name and email address.
  • Your location. If you allow it, the app uses your location to center the map and show events near you. You can turn this off at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
  • Your choices in the app. When you mark an event as going, interested, or not going, set a reminder, or follow an area, we save that so it stays with your account.
  • Notifications. If you turn on reminders or alerts, we keep a device token so we can send them to you.
  • The waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we keep the email address and city or ZIP code you give us, so we can tell you when This Week arrives near you.
  • Basic diagnostics. We may receive simple technical information, such as the app version and crash reports, so we can keep things working well.

How we use it

We use this information to:

  • run the app and show you the events for your area,
  • save your plans, reminders, and settings,
  • send the notifications you asked for,
  • answer your questions when you write to us, and
  • fix bugs and keep the app reliable.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers to host the app, send notifications, and handle waitlist sign-ups. They only use your information to provide those services to us. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Your choices

  • You can turn off location, notifications, or sign-in in your iPhone's Settings or in the app.
  • You can delete your account from the account screen in the app while you're signed in. This removes your saved plans and preferences from our systems.
  • You can email us at hello@thisweek.events with any questions, to ask for a copy of your data, or to ask us to delete it if you can't do that in the app.

Children

This Week isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the app after an update, that means you accept the new version.
